Inmates in Inverness Prison have been given a special menu for Christmas and New Year.
Along with prison kitchens throughout the country, a small increase in the daily budget for offenders sees a total of £4.93 per day for each inmate spent on food.
The average daily cost for food is £2.68.
Special meals served on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and January 2 includes a menu of a turkey or nut roast dinner, pan au chocolat and 'goody bags' for prisoners to enjoy.
The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) said it had made an extra allowance of £9.03 for each prisoner to cover meals over the four festive days, in addition to the average daily cost per prisoner for food of £2.68.
The menus are as follows:
Christmas Day menu
Breakfast: cereal/milk, pan au chocolat
Brunch: sausage, bacon, egg, beans, hash brown with a vegetarian option of red onion and rosemary sausages
Dinner: turkey, roast potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy with a vegetarian option of nut roast. Followed by Christmas pudding and cream.
Goody bag: caramel log, crisps, Christmas cake, satsuma and orange juice.
Boxing Day Menu
Breakfast: cereal, milk, yoghurt
Brunch: sausage, black pudding, hash brown, beans, egg
Boxing Day dinner: chicken Balmoral, roast potatoes, carrots, peas and sweetcorn, Yorkshire pudding and gravy with a vegetarian choice of vegetable Kiev. Followed by trifle.
New Year’s Day Menu
Breakfast: cereal and milk and a pan au chocolat
Brunch: sausage, bacon, haggis, beans, tattie scone, with a vegetarian choice of red onion and rosemary sausages.
Dinner: roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, Brussels sprouts, Yorkshire pudding, gravy with a vegetarian choice of nut roast. Followed by trifle.
Goody bag: caramel log, crisps, mince pie, satsuma, and orange juice
January 2nd
Breakfast: cereal and milk
Lunch: sausage, black pudding, egg, beans, hash brown or vegetarian brunch
Dinner: chicken curry or vegetable curry with rice or chips
