Inverness court told of previous offender found carrying knife on city street

A 21-year-old Inverness man who was found by police in a public place carrying a knife will be sentenced next month.

Lewis Fitzgerald, of Cook Drive, Inverness, pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court to possessing the blade without a reasonable excuse in the city’s Anderson Street on January 9.

His solicitor advocate, Clare Russell, told Sheriff Bobby Frazer that her client is currently on a community payback order and a background report would be required.

Fitzgerald will return to be sentenced on June 5 and his bail was continued meantime.
