Power failures close schools at Inverness, Beauly and Tain

THREE Highland schools and one nursery are closed or partly closed after being hit by power failures.

A total of 836 pupils have been told to stay at home this morning after electricity, heating and water supplies were hit.

Inverness High School told S1 to S3 pupils to stay home after losing power, while Beauly Primary and nursery and Knockbreck Primary in Tain were shut completely.
