A power cut has hit 153 homes just south-west of Loch Ness.

Engineers from Scottish &Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) are onsite working to repair the fault across a large area from near Fort Augustus to Invergarry and west to Loch Hourn.

First reported at 10.02am today, an SSEN spokesman said it was hoped to have power restored to the area by 1.30pm today.

He said: “We’re aware of a power cut in the area affecting 153 homes.

“The cause is a fault on our overhead network.”
