A HEART-warming fond farewell has been paid to a stalwart staff member at a school on her retirement.

Isobel MacLean, who is known to pupils and colleagues as Izzy, has worked as a pupil support assistant for 29 years.

She started her support role in Inchmore Primary and then moved with the school to Kirkhill, where she retired earlier this month.

“She is a valued and loved member of the whole community and the children and staff alike will miss her terribly,” said Kirkhill Primary School’s head teacher Georgina Dunbar.

“Due to Covid we had to gather all the children and ex-staff on the school pitch to present her with gifts from the parent council and a book of messages and memories from the children.

“Izzy, as we all know her, is always full of fun and will dress up for every occasion.

“We hope she comes back to visit and join in some fun events held at the school. As much as we’ll miss her we hope she has a wonderful retirement.”
