Amid controversy over the My Ness Gathering Place artwork, part of the £790,000 Highland Council led riverside artworks project, there has been heated debate locally on social media as to what constitutes "art".

Inverness Angling Club installed a sculpture at the site last week in a bid to "show Highland Council what real art is".

There has been much criticism of the curved walkway opposite Ness Islands as "a mess" and "waste of money", but also some support – including some from individuals reluctant to raise their voice publicly as appreciative of the project.
