Community police officers in Inverness have been involved with the city's The Good-NESS Project.

The charity shared the news via its Facebook page and the post read: "Our awesome community police officers Jo and Katy saved 900 grams of food from going to waste today.

"And they came on their bikes, we love a bit of eco-travel.

"All the food in the fridge each day would have been taken away for landfill from local shops, but it’s still perfectly good to eat.

"So far local people have saved over 1200 meals from going to waste by using the fridge.

"If you see Jo and Katy about, they are lovely to chat to – you might see them at the fridge now and again looking for some lunch so give them a wave."
