Inverness city centre crash prompts police appeal after cyclist taken to Raigmore Hospital





Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Inverness involving a cyclist and a Ford Transit vehicle.

The 37-year-old male cyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

The 43-year-old male driver of the Ford Transit was uninjured.

The collision was at the junction of Castle Street with Culduthel Road and View Place.

The incident, which occurred at around 9.45am today, sparked the closure of Castle Street between High Street and its junction with View Place next to the Castle Tavern for more than six hours to allow collision investigators to carry out work. Bridge Street was also closed to through-traffic between Bank Street and Castle Street.

Police are also checking for any relevant CCTV footage.

Road Policing Sergeant Douglas Scott said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen anything to get in touch with us. If you have any recording equipment, please check your footage and pass on any relevant images to us.”
