People are being blocked from entering part of the Ness Islands in Inverness.

Police officers are at the beauty spot which is popular among locals and tourists alike.

The entry off Island Bank Road has been cordoned off with police tape, while an officer is blocking a path from the opposite side to that area of the site.

It is not known why the area has been restricted.

Police Scotland and Highland Council have been asked to comment.
