Police patrols stepped up in Drumnadrochit after hotels and garage targeted by thieves
POLICE patrols have been increased in Drumnadrochit following the theft of thousands of pounds from three businesses.
A petrol station and two hotels were targeted in the early hours of Friday morning. It is understood they were the Benleva Hotel, the Loch Ness Inn and Lewiston Garage, although none commented yesterday.
Detectives have appealed for help tracing two suspects who were seen in the village dressed in black at the time of the thefts, which occurred between midnight and 3am.
"We are asking members of the public to come forward if they saw anyone acting suspiciously and are particularly keen to trace two males who were seen in the area at the time," said a police spokesman.
"Both were wearing black clothing, black beanie hats and scarves. There is an increased police presence in the area at this time with additional patrols in operation as enquiries continue."
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Following the thefts police have issued reminders to residents and businesses to make sure they keep doors and windows locked overnight.
