Police officers are investigating a break-in at Inverness Castle which is currently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment into a tourist attraction.

The incident, which happened overnight earlier this week, also involved damage being caused.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said officers received a report about 7.20am on November 5 of an overnight break-in at premises in View Place.

“Our inquiries are ongoing to establish whether anything has been stolen,” the spokesperson said.

The Inverness Castle Experience project is due open in mid-2025 and is benefiting from £30 million investment to support its redevelopment from the Scottish and UK governments, Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and a range of other partners.
