Police officer targeted outside Inverness rehab facility
A woman threw her mobile phone at a police officer’s head outside an Inverness rehab facility.
Holly Mackay (27) had returned back to Beechwood House in Old Perth Road on February 28, when she was told she could not come back in.
When police arrived she threw her phone at them and resisted arrest.
Fiscal depute Adelle Gray told Interim Sheriff Principal Eilidh Macdonald at Inverness Sheriff Court: “At about 3.15am the accused was dropped off at Beechwood House.
“Staff contacted police and did not allow her access.
“On arrival the accused threw her mobile phone towards the head of a police officer and they had to move out of the way.
“She collected her items from the ground and threw it again.”
Mackay, of Wellington Avenue, Wick, pleaded guilty to assault and resisting arrest.
Sheriff Macdonald deferred sentencing until July 10 for background reports to be completed.
