Fiscal depute Adelle Gray said that a total of four constables then tried to apprehend Whittlestone but he struggled violently with them, flailed his arms around and head-butted one to his injury.

He admitted assault and resisting arrest with Sheriff Aitken warning him: "This is a serious matter. Behaviour like this towards police officers carrying out their duty wll not be tolerated and a prison sentence is a possibility."

Sentence was deferred until May 22 for a background report on Whittlestone and his bail was continued.
