Inverness housing estate disturbance involved Nairn man
Four police officers were required to arrest a 25-year-old Nairn man after a disturbance in an Inverness housing estate.
Sheriff Gary Aitken was told that officers were called to deal with Conor Whittlestone, of Montgomerie Drive, in Assynt Road on October 7, 2023 and he assaulted one officer by kicking him on the body.
Fiscal depute Adelle Gray said that a total of four constables then tried to apprehend Whittlestone but he struggled violently with them, flailed his arms around and head-butted one to his injury.
He admitted assault and resisting arrest with Sheriff Aitken warning him: "This is a serious matter. Behaviour like this towards police officers carrying out their duty wll not be tolerated and a prison sentence is a possibility."
Sentence was deferred until May 22 for a background report on Whittlestone and his bail was continued.
