POLICE have reminded householders in the Inverness area to be conscious of security over the festive period following a series of recent thefts.

The thefts were from insecure properties and vehicles in the Kinmylies area.

A spokesman for Police Scotland urged people to ensure their doors and vehicles were locked and not to leave valuable items in sight of windows.

"Tackling crimes of dishonesty remains a priority in the Highlands and Islands, and we would like members of the public to assist us in preventing opportunistic crimes from taking place by being mindful of their security," he said.

Anyone seeing or hearing anything suspicious, should contact the police on 101 or 999.
