Police in Inverness call for information after serious assault in Caledonian Bar in the early hours of Saturday morning

Police in Inverness are investigating a serious assault that took place in a popular city public house.

Officer say the incident happened in the Caledonian Bar on High Street around 1.15am last Saturday.

A man was struck with a glass, causing severe injury to the victim.

A police spokesman said: "Police in Inverness are making enquiries into a serious assault that occurred about 1.15am on Saturday October 2 2021 within the Caledonian Bar, High Street, Inverness.

"Police were informed that a male suspect had struck a male victim with a glass causing severe injury to the victim.

"Anyone with information can contact Police on 101."
