Police confirm no 'suspicious circumstances' after house fire in Nairn

Police have confirmed there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances after a house fire last night in Nairn.

Emergency services, including four Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances, were called to the scene on Albert Street at 10.42pm.

The house was damaged in the fire.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 11pm on Wednesday March 3 we received a report of a fire at a property on Albert Street in Nairn.

“Officers attended to assist colleagues at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“There does not appear to have been any suspicious circumstances.”

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a house fire in Albert Street in Nairn at 10.42pm and we left the scene at 12.02am.

"Four fire appliances were on the scene, with pumps used from Nairn and Forres. Six of the fire crew used breathing apparatus and they used one jet hose and two house reel jets."
