UPDATE (12.30pm): Police launch enquiry after ‘unexplained’ death of man (64) in Inverness

Part of a road in Inverness has been cordoned off by police following what is understood to have been an incident earlier this morning.

A section of Druid Road, near the junction with Tomatin Road, is blocked with pedestrians and vehicles unable to enter the area.

Several police officers and police vehicles were at the scene in Hilton.

A local resident said: “I don’t know what has happened but my son said he saw three or four ambulances outside at around 4.30am.”

Another man at a shop nearby said: “I saw the blue flashing lights but didn’t know what was happening.”

The nature of the incident is unclear and it is not known if anyone has been injured.

Police have been contacted for comment.
