Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision in Drumnadrochit yesterday afternoon.

It was on the A82, which was closed until 9.30pm, and a 24-year-old woman died at the scene.

Emergency services were called to the scene, at Borlum Farm, around 3.15pm following the collision between a southbound blue Citroen C3 and a grey Honda CRV travelling north.

The female casualty had been a passenger in the Citroen and the driver, a 27-year-old man, and the 56-year-old female driver of the Honda were both taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance.

The man was described by medical staff as serious but stable and the woman is stable.

Sergeant David Miller, of the Highlands and Islands Road Policing Unit, said: "Although we have spoken to a number of people who stopped following the crash, we are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the crash or possibly the cars on the road just prior to the collision. We're also looking for any dash-cam footage of the area at the time.

"Information can be passed to Road Policing Officers at Dingwall Police Station via 101. Please quote reference number 1838 of 12 October 2020 when calling."
