Officers would also like to speak to anyone who was travelling along the road, between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus, at around 8am yesterday who might have witnessed the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are especially keen to speak to the driver of an orange Honda Civic who sustained damage to their rear offside panel."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the 101 non-emergency number and quote NN7670/20.
