PODCAST: Karen McBey shares past Strictly Inverness experience and how the event benefits Inverness Ice Centre

Amateur dancers will be competing for public votes while generating much-needed cash for charity over the three competitive events this week.

Strictly Inverness launches tonight with its family night showcasing local dance troupes and gives couples involved in Team Thursday and Team Friday a chance to calm their nerves by performing their group dances in front of a live audience.

They will then compete in respective semi-finals tomorrow and Friday with the four top couples qualifying for Saturday's final.

The real winners though are organisers and hosts Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, which benefit from the thousands of pounds raised each year by competitors and their connections.

Our final Strictly for a Cause podcast ahead of the event features the ice centre's Karen McBey, a former Strictly Inverness champion, and key figure in making the annual crowd-puller happen every May.
