AN organic vegetarian and vegan café in Inverness city centre could be transformed into a wine bar under plans lodged with Highland Council.

Applicant Rob Steadman is seeking permission to create a licensed business in Church Street, with the C-listed building requiring internal changes.

He also wants permission for an outdoor seating area.

Since April 2015, Nourish café has offered healthy, eco-conscious snacks and meals, as well as an upstairs suite with complementary therapies such as yoga and acupuncture.

The new interior design would feature seating for 26 customers, a curved wine bar and sinks, as well as accessible toilets, built-in wine safe displays and ramped access at the front door.

Upstairs, there would be first floor storage and sampling rooms, extra toilet facilities and a public snug offering a small number of extra seats.

Mr Steadman has already received permission to replace existing windows with dormer windows and re-open a blocked-up door.
