Skerryvore hail ‘incredible’ Inverness crowd after kicking off packed weekend of gigs in Highland capital - with Callum Beattie and Ministry of Sound to follow on Saturday and Sunday
A weekend of top live music got under way in Inverness in fine fashion last night when Skerryvore wowed a packed sell-out crowd.
The Scottish band kicked off three nights of top performances at Inverness Leisure, with Callum Beattie set to grace the stage on Saturday in front of another sold out crowd, and Ministry of Sound closing out the weekend on Sunday with Ibiza Anthems.
Organised by LCC Live, the shows are expected to attract more than 4500 people to Inverness this weekend - with a huge boost to the city’s traders and hospitality scene expected.
Speaking ahead of the three concerts, Les Kidger, director of LCC Live, said: “Christmas is a busy period, and we have people from all over the Highlands and further afield coming for the weekend.
“It’s a great boost for the economy and we will see more people in shopping, at restaurants, bars and staying at hotels.”
Meanwhile, Skerryvore certainly enjoyed the reception they got from their packed crowd, taking to their Facebook page afterwards to post pictures from the night.
They said: “Just INCREDIBLE Inverness. What a night!! There’s no place like home.
They added: “Thanks again Inverness! You sure know how to have a party. Down the road now for a small intimate show in Glasgow tonight… a wee place called the Hydro?”
