PICTURES: A fundraiser at Inverness Airport for Maggie's Highland was fun, fit and fairly fabulous!

A fundraiser for Maggie's Highland was more an event - it was a gathering of old friends after the pandemic.

The Run the Runway event, at Inverness Airport, that saw more than 170 people come out at midnight to raise more than £25,000 for the cancer support charity.

The charity hopes to raise another £5000 from the event to reach its goal of £30,000.

Andrew Benjamin, fundraiser, said: "I am so thrilled to say that the return of the much loved and fun filled 'Run the Runway' at midnight event was a resounding success and an enjoyable was had by all.

"We had over 170 participants take part in the event which was a mix of families, friends, companies and those keen to see how fast they can Run the Runway!, we even had people travel up from Kent just to take part in this unique event!

"It was a joy to see so may people having fun and enjoying time with their friends and families again after such a difficult year!

"The event has already raised over £25,000 with more sponsorship still to come so we will hopefully get over our £30,000 goal.

"This was the fourth Run the Runaway for Maggie’s and has so far raised over £160,000 which is incredible, I would like to so a massive thank you to everyone who has taken part and raised money over the years!

"We are delighted to announce that Run the Runway will be back on 27th August 2022. Maggie’s Highlands would like to thank Inverness Airport for their amazing support and backing to making this event so successful!"
