PICTURES: Pupils at Tore and Munlochy Primary Schools on the Black Isle put their best feet forward for Ukrainian refugees

Pupils at two Black Isle primary schools stepped out this week to help the people of Ukraine.
Children from Tore and Munlochy Primary Schools held a sponsored walk to raise funds for the British Red Cross efforts in supporting the victims of the crisis.
Ben Sharp, acting head teacher at both schools, said: “Each school had a target number of collective miles that more than 100 children were aiming to walk.
“This is to represent all those that have had to walk to safety during this traumatic time.
“Pupils have collected sponsorship money which will be sent to the Red Cross once the event is over.”
Classes took turns to use school fields and local walkways to complete the target miles – 200 miles for Munlochy and 80 for Tore – and they spent most of the day working towards their goal.
“They have also been showing their support by decorating the school fences with sunflowers decorated in the Ukrainian flag colours of blue and yellow,” Mr Sharp added. “Our wonderful local communities have also been doing what they can.”
