ALMOST 100 pipe bands from across the world helped stir the soul with a slew of great performances at the return of Piping Inverness on Saturday.

The celebration of Scottish musical culture at the city’s Bught Park also featured the European Pipe Band Championships, judged by members of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA).

Championship winners this year were Inverary and District Pipe Band, playing in the Grade One section.
