PICTURES: Night of laughs raises money for Inverness charity Mikeysline

Comedy, live music and even a touch of drama were all on the menu during an Inverness fundraiser for Mikeysline.

Shindigging For Gold was held at the La Tortilla Asesina tapas restaurant in Castle Street, Inverness, in aid of the suicide prevention charity and its Hive drop-in centre.

Organised by local stand-up comedian Kieran Lochore, it also featured performances by members of the Mike’d Up comedy club, four-piece acoustic band ERKs and local amateur actors.

Members of the public were even urged to get involved at various points during the night.

The final amount raised is not yet known, but Mr Lochore said the event, held last Friday, had been “a wonderful, unforgettable night”.

He added: “Thank you to everyone who came along to our first Shindigging For Gold event at La Tortilla Asesina.

“We had an immense amount of fun and raised a few pennies for Mikeysline and the Hive project.”

Another similar event is now being planned for the spring.
