Boath House in Auldearn opens doors again under new management with busy open day
New management at a popular Nairnshire venue celebrated the start of a new chapter today as they reopened doors to the local community.
Visitors flocked today at Boath House, near Auldearn, as the new team taking over the hotel and restaurants marked the day with a crafts and farmers market.
The grounds were busy with people from across the areas - and many furry companions - who enjoyed the sunny day in the gardens, with live music throughout the day.
Assistant general manager, Lois Lewis, said the turnout on the day was phenomenal.
She said: “We expected a good turnout, but we would have never anticipated how many people have come through the doors.
“We had such a positive feedback, even from social media, with people messaging and commenting how excited they were to come and visit the place. And I think that people have been finally allowed to wonder around the house, which is great as well!”
The hotel and restaurant, set in a beautiful Georgian A-listed mansion, was run by Cabin Studio until late January, when it unexpectedly closed doors as the company went into liquidation.
However, in a matter of a few weeks, a new team has swept in – with owners Steven and Lorna Mayne involved – and worked to reopen the location.
The venue has seen the introduction of a new farm shop and the return of the popular garden café - with the space set to reopen as a hotel and fine dining venue at later stage.
General manager, Chris Lewis said: “It’s quite overwhelming to see this support already.
“We are a completely new company, but we felt there was a cloud, so as a management company we decided that we wanted people o know as quickly as possible that we intended this to be reborn as a place for everyone, and meet them, and to let them see what is all about.”
The new management group is formed by four couples, each focussing on a specific part of the new development of Boath House.
“We are reopening Boath House as we imagine it should be,” Mr Lewis explained.
“For us, it’s a place where local people can come and share local products and just enjoy a place of beauty. It’s a community place, a place for family.”
