PICTURES: Looking back at 2020, a year like no other

Of course nobody is going to be able look back at 2020 without thinking of the huge toll coronavirus has had on all our lives.

Whether it has impacted on work, family life, or health there can be few, if any, of us who have not suffered to some degree as a result of Covid-19.

For some the past 12 months have brought tragedy, while for all us it has undoubtedly been tough .

But in between the tears there has also been plenty to celebrate and many examples of individuals and communities alike rising above all the challenges to show that they care and want to make a positive difference to the lives of those around them.

As 2020 draws to a close – at last, you may well say – here are just a few of the images captured by our photographers displaying the diversity of life across the Highlands before, during and beyond lockdown reminding us all that, whatever happens, life does go on.
