The Hilton Primary School Fete yesterday saw many take part to various activities and enjoy some hot food and treats together to help the school upgrade its 30-year-old equipment.

Organised by the parent council the event is expected to have raised around £1800 - which will help reach the total fundraising bid of just under £9000.

Speaking on behalf of the parent council Anne Edwards said: “The day went well, and children and parents enjoyed themselves.

“The total has not been finalised, but we think around £1800 has been raised towards our target for the new sound system.

“The fete brought together the community, and there were lots of smiling children, which is what it was all about.

“We are also extremely grateful for those donations and contributions.”
