Families enjoyed a colourful treat when an Inverness church invited them to be part of a festive fundraising spectacular.
St Stephen’s Church in Southside Road mounted their Joy to the World in Light and Music event on December 22 and 23.
The whole church was bathed in light for the occasion, with candles, a colourful nativity scene featuring the Three Wise Men and a glorious Christmas tree also adding to the spectacle.
Live music from organist Alyn Ross accompanied the show, which replaced the popular Christmas concert the church would normally organise as its annual festive charity fundraiser.
With coronavirus making that kind of gathering impossible this year, those attending the alternative event were still able to do their bit to help those in need by donating towards Action for Children’s InTandem mentoring project for looked-after youngsters.

The church's Val Cantlay said: "This was a very successful outdoor event held over two evenings at St Stephen’s Church,Southside Road, Inverness.
"The church building was beautifully lit up, lights were everywhere and music was relayed outside.
"It was a very happy occasion and over £1000 was donated to the chosen charity Action for Children and their InTandem project."
