INVERNESS residents woke up to a sunny and warm summer day, and made the most out of it.

Locals were in force across the River Ness and Whin Park today, as temperatures rose over 22 degrees.

Families, dog walkers and water sport enthusiasts alike enjoyed the summer day and cooled down by splashing in the river or getting a round of ice cream.
