A group of ladies hosted a ‘stunning’ afternoon tea at Aldourie Castle providing a huge boost for a quintet of fundraisers for the Highland Hospice.
Last month the group tackled a ‘Five Go West’ challenge which entailed travelling on horseback for five days from Dores to Kinloch Hourn, covering a total distance of 25 miles. The initiativehelps to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those supported by the hospice.
Guests were treated to a guided tour of the beautiful gardens and exquisite Aldourie Castle, followed by a decadent afternoon tea served in the stunning steading.
Pipers delighted guests with a proper Highland greeting. Additionally, Lily Kelman, who is a world champion Highland dancer, treated guests to a wonderful performance in both the castle and its courtyards.
The group - Candy Cameron, Hannah Bain, Connie McDowall and Teresa Collinson - raised an incredible £8000 at Aldourie, which brought their total to £9290.
Highland Hospice fundraiser Emma Nicol said: “Huge thanks to Lavinia and all the incredible team at Aldourie Castle for their hospitality. Thank you to our wonderful pipers, Jo and Rowan for giving the guests a true Highland experience and to Lily Kelman, for treating us to a wonderful performance.
“We are so grateful to Five Go West for taking on their equestrian challenge to support us, and to everyone who came along to enjoy afternoon tea in support of it.”
