NHS Highland and emergency service partners turned out to mark 72 years of the health service at the weekend.

Scottish Ambulance Service, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland and HM Coastgaurd colleagues were joined by colleagues from NHS Highland, as emergency vehicles lit up their blue lights in front of the hospital’s main building.

A spokeswoman for NHS Highland said: "Many people will have experienced difficult times during these months, so with the help of our emergency services colleagues we want to show appreciation and shine a light on the unwavering dedication of all key workers, and to say thank you.

"In this 72nd Anniversary year, our NHS has responded in ways it has never had to before to deal with the challenges of the coronavirus, Covid-19, pandemic. And it continues to respond in remarkable ways with our staff showing extraordinary commitment and dedication."
