FESTIVE celebrations have been in full swing at a Nairn school in recent days as pupils and staff get ready to go on holiday this week.
In the run up to Christmas, the community at Nairn Academy enjoyed sharing events as they returned after the gap due to Covid. The list of events saw a Christmas Fayre kicking off the festive season, with S1 students enjoying a trip to the panto at Eden Court, a Christmas lunch for the whole school, two evening dances and a Christmas celebration and talent show which will be running this week at the secondary school.
Head teacher Julie MacDonald said: “It has been fantastic getting back to school festive activities after the last couple of years. Our Christmas Fayre is always a great event for our community and school stalls. We very much appreciate the support of our local businesses including Asher’s bakery who provided all our mince pies.
"Our canteen staff did a great job serving our Christmas lunches last week. The lunch is provided free of charge to pupils due to the kind donation from our Parent Council.
"Our Christmas dances are also in the school calendar this year. A great opportunity to connect with each other with ceilidh music, food and games. Our thanks to all the staff who support these events. Pupils have really enjoyed having these extra activities back in school."
