Festive fun has helped to raise thousands for the children of a local school following a very successful Christmas Fair.

Drummond School played host to its annual Christmas Fair recently, and organisers were delighted with the large turnout of talented traders and community support for what the said proved to be a “magical event”.

A grand total of £5632.30 was raised on the day, with the school’s parent council praising all those who helped to generate the “amazing” total.

Lindsay Fulton, who is treasurer of the Drummond School Parent Council, said: “The fair was a resounding success, with families, friends, and supporters enjoying the celebrations while raising vital funds for the school.

“A highlight of the day was the enchanting Santa’s Grotto, where Santa and Mrs. Claus delighted children with their warmth and festive cheer. The grotto was beautifully decorated, creating a cosy winter wonderland where children could share their Christmas wishes and receive a special gift which was supplied by Wiiliamson's Food and Drink.

“The event was made possible through the tireless efforts of the parent council, whose hard work behind the scenes brought the fair to life. We were also supported by our amazing teachers, PSAs and volunteers, ensuring everything ran smoothly and joyfully.

“This year’s fair featured 27 talented traders offering a variety of crafts, gifts, and festive treats. Our local businesses and traders generously donated a wide array of raffle prizes, and the children showed their entrepreneurial spirit by running their own mini enterprises.

“Adding to the festive atmosphere, the local fire brigade made an appearance, much to the excitement of visitors, while the Gateway Gang and Inshes’ East Ceilidh Band kept us entertained while the Great Glen Ferret Association provided lots of cuddles to our guests.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the event including Lochardil Primary, Hilton Church and St Columba Church.

“Together, we created a day filled with joy, community spirit, and holiday magic, all while raising funds to support the children of Drummond School.

“The feedback was humbling as so many visitors gave positive feedback on how well organised [it was], traders had a successful day - some had sold out and some had commented how it was a calming and relaxing atmosphere, and what a great aura the fair had.”
