Family-friendly fun was the order of the day when young and old alike gathered for a fab day at the Cauldeen Carnival.

The event, which was held at Cauldeen Primary School in Inverness on Saturday, featured all manner of fun-filled attractions - from stilt walkers and fire eaters, to carnival games, inflatables and more.

Organised by Cauldeen Primary Parent Teacher Association (PTA), the event also featured a range of traders and food vendors offering unique goods and services.

Other activities included the likes of sand art, face painting, a rainbow raffle, and soak the teacher.

And a number of groups and organisations were also present, such as Highland & Grampian Pets as Therapy, the Great Glen Ferret Association, and the Wildcats & Highland Stags.

"Wow, just wow!" said Lindsey Fulton from the PTA. "Thank you so much to everyone who made the carnival the amazing day it was after the eventful downpour the day before which had us turn to Plan B, but we woke to glorious sunshine and wasn't that just the best!

"Watching all the parents and carers with their children smiling and laughing - especially on the colour run - heart warming! Full of giggles and rainbows of colour.

"We hope you all had a great time showing off your best circus skills or saying hello to our special guest on stilts, splatting the rat to throwing a poo in the loo - a toy one, tucking into all the sweet treats and food, jumping on the fire engine, saying hello to the lovely ferrets and pets as therapy dogs, visiting all the traders, sliding down the slide, looking fabulous in your face paints and festival hair, watching the fire show or ending up in an explosion of colour participating in our very first Colour Run and receiving your medal - just to name a few!

"The PTA are honestly ever so grateful for the support from parents, teachers, children, traders, stewards, entertainment, volunteers and more, we mean this truly - it really means the world to us as a PTA but also knowing you are helping the children of Cauldeen.

"The funds we raised will bring more fun and happiness with support to the kids- our next plans are in the pipeline ready to kick off next term, watch this space!

“Thank you once again for your tremendous support. It makes us feel super proud and happy, knowing all the hard work brought fun and happiness to the community of Cauldeen Primary School.”
