Do you recognise anyone in this picture?

ARE you in this photograph, or do you know anyone who is?

Do you remember the event? If so, you can become a Picture Detective in the Inverness Courier’s regular feature, run in conjunction with Highland Council’s Am Baile team.

Am Baile (www.ambaile.org.uk) is the leading Highland history and culture website.

On the site there are photographs, short films and audio recordings, as well as maps, rare books and archive documents. Its material covers aspects of life in the Highlands from the 1800s to the present day and the site is bilingual with information presented in both English and Gaelic.

But it holds hundreds of photographs which have left its researchers puzzled as there are no names or captions attached.

The second picture detective snap this week belongs to a collection held by Highland Photographic Archive, which has been digitised and permission given to publish it on the Am Baile website.

If you can help solve the mystery, comment on the Facebook post, email us at newsdesk@spp-group.com or write to Picture Detective, Editorial Department, the Inverness Courier, New Century House, Stadium Road, Inverness IV1 1FG.
