ARE you in either of these photos, or do you know anyone who is?

If so, you can become a Picture Detective in the Inverness Courier’s regular feature, run in conjunction with Highland Council’s Am Baile team.

On the site there are photos, short films and audio recordings, as well as maps, rare books and archive documents.

Its material covers aspects of life in the Highlands from the 1800s to the present day and the site is bilingual with information presented in both English and Gaelic.

But it holds hundreds of photos which have left its researchers puzzled as there are no names or captions attached.

Today’s snaps belong to a collection held by Highland Photographic Archive, which has been digitised and permission given to publish it on the Am Baile website.
