The lure of coffee, cake and being able to support a good cause proved a big draw for the Macmillan Coffee Morning hosted by Executive – Highland News and Media’s (HNM) monthly business magazine.

Part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, one of the cancer charity’s biggest fundraisers of the year, the Executive event took place at the Kings Golf Club in Inverness, providing an opportunity to socialise, network and enjoy the coffee provided by Kevin Donnachie and his team from Inverness Coffee Roasting Co.

HNM business development manager Darrel Patterson was delighted with the response.

“It was great to see so many taking advantage of the networking opportunity,” he said.

Louise Mackay, Macmillan Cancer Care relationship fundraising manager, said: "It was a pleasure to meet and attend Highland News Media’s Coffee Morning and have the opportunity to meet our charity partner face to face for the first time and say thank you.

"Their coffee morning raised an incredible £844 and for us, that could fund a Macmillan nurse for 26 hours. The room was alive with people celebrating coming back together again and it was liberating to share, the impact of what their support means to people living with cancer.

"We want everyone to know that they can turn to Macmillan from the moment they are diagnosed and we’ll do whatever it takes. Thank you to everyone who supported on the day."
