A person has been taken to hospital following a 'police incident' on Kessock Bridge early this morning.

The section of A9 was closed in both directions at 3.17am with motorists advised to use alternative routes.

Emergency services were called to a 'concern for person' and the person was taken to hospital.

It is not known what action emergency services took at the scene or the condition of the person.

Earlier this month it was revealed talks are under way between multiple organisations following previous closures.

Police Scotland is not commenting on the situation.

The road was reopened at 5.21am.
