Pictures of a person on the scaffolding at Inverness Castle have appeared on social media.

Photos seem to show someone climbing up the side of the structure before standing on one of the levels.

The castle site has been closed off as it undergoes a multimillion-pound transformation into a tourist attraction.

The photos were shared by the popular What's Happening Inverness Facebook page, with the caption: "Tourist checking out the castle? That’s the old court, if your not careful you might end up visiting the new one. Or Raigmore."

High Life Highland, which has been spearheading the project, has been asked for comment.
