Parts of Inverness and Highlands hit by flash flooding

FLASH flooding caused disruption in parts of the Highlands last night – and a yellow weather warning has been issued for later today.

Areas of Inverness were hit with the visiting Zippos Circus posting photos of rainwater outside its tent in the car park at Caledonian Stadium. Most of the water has since drained away.

Other roads were flooded with drains looking more like fountains.

Some motorists and bus services were disrupted.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Inverness and surrounding areas between noon and 9pm today.
