Two men have been fined £600 each after getting involved in a nightclub brawl.

Gordon Haines (35) and Richard Hunter (41) engaged in a “rammy” that broke out in Nairn’s Play House in the early hours of March 1, 2020.

Both admitted a breach of the peace when they appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.

The court was told that a fight broke out among several people around 1.30am on the date in question and that a considerable amount of alcohol had been consumed beforehand by both men.

Haines, an offshore electrician of Loch Avenue, Nairn, and Hunter, a plumber who lives in the town’s High Street, both admitted behaving in a disorderly manner at the Church Street venue.

They had fought and struggled with another man, leading to the fine for disorder.
