INVERNESS actor Karen Gillan has revealed she was turned away from a screening of Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle in her home city because it was a complete sell out.

The 32-year-old told BBC Scotland's The Edit, while promoting the film's sequel Jumanji: The Next Level, which is released this Friday.

She said she was hopeful of a better chance of seeing the finished article this time around.

When asked if Jumanji was now a festive tradition she said: "I mean I would love if it was and it went on for many more Christmases, because I'm going to go up to Inverness, where I'm from, and last time I went to try and go see Jumanji and I couldn't get in because the Inverness screening was totally full. And I was like 'yes!'."

She added that she had never been happier to be turned away from a screening – because it proved the film was popular.

Her other new release, The Party's Just Beginning, hit screens on December 1 and she was also seen earlier this year enjoying the Belladrum festival.
