The owners of a Nairn-shire establishment have said farewell after 30 years as proprietors.

Cawdor Tavern has officially changed hands, after Christine and Norman Sinclair have successfully run the “outstanding family business” for three decades, along with two other hospitality outlets.

Norman and Christine Sinclair said: “After spending many years in hospitality from the family business of The Moorings Hotel in Fort William and building The Classroom in Nairn, Cawdor Tavern has been very special to run.

“We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers as we farewell to Cawdor Tavern.

“It has been a pleasure to be of service over the last 30 years and we have some wonderful memories to take with us as we move on.

“We wish Lady Cawdor and her team well with their new venture.”

Farwell drinks and canapes will take place from 8pm tonight.

Comments from customers on social media show how much Norman and Christine have been appreciated.

Morag Holding said: “Along with your fantastic staff, you created one of our favourite places where delicious food, the best of beer and a warm welcome was always guaranteed. You should be so proud of all you've achieved. Thank you and good luck for the future.”

Andrew Miller added: “Thank you Christine and Norman and all the team for 30 years of delicious meals, excellent service and for helping so many us celebrate our special occasions or just have a great night out. Good luck for your future adventures and endeavours.”
