A9 Tomatin realignment: overnight delays and new junction in latest dualling works
Motorists are being advised to expect overnight delays and a new traffic layout ahead of major realignment on the A9 near Tomatin.
The works will begin on November 17 and run for around five nights between 7pm - 6am, excluding Sunday nights.
During this time, temporary traffic lights and a convoy system will be in place on the A9 south of the Tomatin north junction. Drivers will be stopped at the lights and guided through the works in convoy.
Transport Scotland said the measures are needed to prepare for the next phase of the dualling the A9 between Tomatin and Moy project, which includes building a new underpass and junction layout at Tomatin.
From November 28, both lanes of the A9 will be temporarily realigned while the underpass is built. The realignment will remain in place until autumn next year.
The existing access junction to Tomatin will also close on November 28 - with a new temporary junction, about 400 metres south of the current one, to open the same day.
There will also be permanent changes to bus stops.
Effective from November 28, both the northbound and southbound A9 bus stops at Tomatin will be moved to the bus turning circle near Tomatin Distillery.
This will affect all scheduled bus services, including the Stagecoach 37 route and the school bus service to Millburn Academy.
The X37 service will bypass the bus turning circle and continue directly to Carrbridge and Aviemore.
