Over 3900 people without power across the Highlands
Multiple power cuts across the Highlands have impacted an estimated 3900 customers across the region.
Many of the power outages were reported to SSEN at 12.07pm today (August 4), with many areas awaiting an update for engineers.
Some have been informed by SSEN that they hope to restore power by 10pm today.
At the time of writing, an engineer appears to be on site for North Kessock and Golspie.
Places affected include: Dingwall, Contin, Black Isle, Farr, Evanton, Croy, Tornagrain, Dumnadrochit, Dores, Foyers, Balnain, Dundonnell, Letters, Achnahaird, Lochcarron, Shieldaig, Plockton, Dornie, Balmacara, Glenelg, Kyle of Lochalsh, Arnisdale, Diabaig, Muir of Ord, Garve, Ullapool, Applecross, Nairn, Golspie, Helmsdale, Drumbeg, Moy, Dornoch, Ardgay, Edderton, much of the Seaboard peninsula, Kingussie, Grantown-on-Spey, Kiltarlity and Beauly.
According to SSEN, the affected Highland postcodes are: IV1, IV2, IV4, IV6, IV7, IV8, IV12, IV14, IV15, IV16, IV22, IV23, IV26, IV30, IV36, IV54, IV63, KW10, PH20, PH21 and PH26.
An estimated 3900 customers have been affected by the outages - but that number is expected to rise.
An amber weather warning remains in place for much of the day with winds of over 70mph forecast.
The alert level, which applies from 10am to 10pm, covers all of mainland Scotland north of the central belt, as well as all of the Outer Hebrides, and all of the Inner Hebrides north of Jura.
Further travel disruption today has been confirmed by Network Rail with railway lines in the west and north of Scotland closing from noon.
Multiple flights are currently scheduled to depart on time from Inverness Airport during the amber weather warning, with further delays and cancellations still possible.
