THERE were three more confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands in the last 24 hours, new figures have shown.

They take the total recorded by NHS Highlands to 320 – and comes after a period of 24 hours where there were no addition cases registered.

Some 181 people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland since yesterday, taking the national total to 13,486.

And 1857 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of 10 on the same point yesterday.

In the Highlands, the number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 decreased from 10 to nine. And the number of people in intensive care is fewer than five.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded another 15 positive tests, for an overall tally of 1050. Its hospitals were also treating 92 people for the disease, with 10 receiving treatment in intensive care.
