NO new positive tests for Covid-19 have been recorded anywhere in the north of Scotland for the second day running.

NHS Highland – and other health boards covering Orkney, Shetland, Eileanan Siar, Grampian and Tayside – all saw their number of confirmed cases remain the same when the latest daily update went live at 2pm.

NHS Highland has had 378 confirmed diagnoses since the start of the pandemic.

Nationally, 22 positive tests were recorded across the whole of Scotland in the past 24 hours – taking the country's overall total to 18,474. There were no new additional deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours.

The number of people who tested positive who were receiving hospital treatment last night was up slightly on the same time on Monday. The figure rose from 299 to 303 in the past 24 hours. Four of those were intensive care last night, with a further 16 suspected but unconfirmed cases also receiving treatment in the country's ICUs.
