No new confirmed coronavirus cases in Highlands for second day running – and number of people in hospital drops

FOR the second day in a row there have been no additional confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Highlands, new figures have shown.

It means the total recorded by NHS Highlands stays at 331.

The number of people being treated in hospital with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 decreased from seven to six, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.

Some 90 people have tested positive across the whole of Scotland in the last 24 hours, taking the national total to 14,537.

And 2103 people have died across the country since the outbreak began, a rise of seven on the same point yesterday.

Elsewhere in the north, NHS Grampian recorded another eight positive tests, for an overall tally of 1189. Its hospitals were also treating 89 people for the disease, with five receiving treatment in intensive care.
